part-time production is an independent film production company based in Istanbul, founded by producer Emir Melek. Specializing in the creation of feature fiction and documentary films, and production services, the company also offers services including project packaging, story production, bible creation, and international co-production structuring and consultancy for both domestic and international projects.

EMİR MELEK

FOUNDER

Emir Melek studied political science and film studies at Bogazici University in Istanbul. He completed his MA in political science at Bogazici University. Selected for the Sarajevo Talents (2023), Berlinale Talents (2025), Rotterdam Lab (2025) and Cinelink Producers Lab (2025). Member of producers association, SEYAP. Fluent in Turkish, English, and Persian.

“Kavur”, his first feature film as producer, made its world premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam and Turkish premiere at Istanbul Film Festival in 2023. Kavur has been the most award winning Turkish film of the year. “Tomato, Pepper, Depression”, his second feature, made its national premiere at the Istanbul Film Festival and has been awarded Special Jury. In 2026, Melek became one of the youngest selection committee member ever appointed to the Documentary Production Support Board of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
